Measure, a solo exhibition of oil paintings, monotype prints, and viscosity etchings by Joyce Zavorskas.

Joyce Zavorskas has dedicated her career to documenting the constantly changing coastal environment. Her site-specific process, located primarily in Cape Cod, MA, involves direct observation of the landscape and repeated visits throughout the seasons and across many years. Over decades of documenting the same specific places, her body of work has become an archive of change through her subjective measure of the erosion, power, beauty and imminent demise of land forms. Measure bridges 4 decades of Zavorskas’s abstract works, bringing together etchings from the early 1980’s, monotype prints from the 2000’s, and recent oil paintings. The exhibition showcases Zavorskas’s abstract recording of places that matter to her before they disappear, and tells a larger story about the changing coastal landscape.
